Day 1: Marrakech - Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Erg Chgaga Dunes.

Our 2-day tour from Marrakech to Zagora Desert will start by picking you up from your booked stay or airport, depending on the time you arrive, passing the Tizi-in-Tichka pass, which is 2,260 meters above sea level, to cross the high Atlas Mountains, stopping along the way to take photos of a lifetime of Berber settlements.

Then travel to the Kasbah of Ait Ben-Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the backdrop to many major motion pictures, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

We go to Ouarzazate after lunch at one of the local eateries in the Kasbah to visit the Atlas Film studio, where many well-known films like Lawrence of Arabia, The Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy, Kingdom of Heaven, Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, etc., have been produced.

The second pass, Tizi N’Tnifift (1710 meters high), which was once a route for caravans carrying Saharan traders arriving from ”Timbuktu”, will be crossed after that. To get to Zagora and the dunes, take a drive through the Draa Valley.

You will have to ride your camel across the sand dunes there. Before you get to your desert camp, you’ll have time to explore, snap pictures, and watch the sunset. Everything you need for a comfortable night is there at the camp.

You will have the opportunity to hear Berber drums after a traditional Moroccan lunch while savoring the desert sky’s moonlight and stars. The night will be spent under a berber tent or in a camp.

Day 2: Zagora Desert - Foum Zguid - Taznakht - Telouet Kasbah - Marrakech.

You should get up early today to take in the splendor of the sunrise over the sand dunes. After breakfast, you will ride your camel back to our driver to board the vehicle and go back to Marrakech.

The dry Lake Iriki will be our first stop, where we’ll go fossil hunting and have lunch in the settlement of Foum Zguid. The Kasbah of Telouet (Palace of Glaoui) is located in the ancient Berber village of Telouet.

The 2-day tour from Marrakech to the Zagora Desert can then continue over the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Draa Valley. By late afternoon, we’ll have crossed the Tizi n Tichka pass and be in Marrakech. Depart for your hotel.
